Few details released in Camden Co. deputy-involved triple shooting | What We Know

WOODBINE, Ga. — Action News Jax is working to find out what lead up to three people being shot in Camden County on Wednesday. Few details have been released other than the incident was characterized by authorities as an “active shooter,” and the GBI said the state is taking over the investigation because it’s a “deputy-involved incident.”

What we know

  • Camden County deputies responded to an active shooter at the intersection of Kinlaw and Harriett’s Bluff roads just before 4:30 p.m.
  • Witnesses told Action News Jax they saw at least two helicopters land in the Winn Dixie parking lot just a few miles down from Harriett’s Bluff Road.
  • Three people were shot and officials have not given their conditions.
  • While the GBI said the shooting is a “deputy-involved” incident, officials did not elaborate on how the deputy is involved.
  • Investigators haven’t said if anyone is in custody but said there is no threat to the community.
