Pilot escapes serious injury as small plane crashes off Jekyll Island in Georgia, Coast Guard says

A small plane crashed Sunday in the marshy waters off Jekyll Island, prompting a rescue effort by U.S. Coast Guard and crews from the Georgia Department of Natural Resources. Coast Guard Station Brunswick rescue crew assisted Georiga DNR officers located the plane and rescuing the pilot, whom a post on X said was in “good condition.”
