As more Brantley County homeowners are being let back onto their property this week to survey the damage around their homes stemming from the Highway 82 Fire, Action News Jax was taken on a ride-along.
Some Brantley County residents are finally returning home as the Highway 82 Fire becomes further contained, while a local church still cannot access its building.

Officials said the fire was calm Wednesday night due to the high humidity, but the Georgia Forestry Commission is expecting more fire activity Thursday due to decreasing humidity.
The population of Brantley County, Georgia is approaching 19,000 people. Two thousand of those people – Brantley County Manager Joey Cason said – are in the path of the Highway 82 Fire.
Clay County Emergency Management is accepting donations for first responders battling wildfires.
