ST. JOHNS COUNTY, Fla. — Katie Malone will spend 40 years in prison after being found guilty of multiple charges related to the sexual exploitation of a child.

According to the State Attorney’s Office 7th Judicial Circuit of Florida, Malone pleaded guilty to Human Trafficking - Minor, Sexual Battery on a Minor 12 to 18 years of age, Lewd and Lascivious Molestation, Promoting Sexual Performance by a Child, Possession of Sexual Performance by a Child, Transmission of Child Pornography by Electronic Device, and Unlawful Use of a Two-Way Communication Device.

Malone was arrested by the St. Johns County Sheriff’s Office in Apr. 2024.
According to the arrest report, the messaging app Kik provided law enforcement with pictures and videos of a child being sexually battered.

In more than one of the videos, the child was “vocal stimming (i.e.: unintelligible noises).” The report stated that in more than one of the videos, the child was wearing “sensory headphones.”
In a recorded interview with deputies on a body-worn camera, Malone said she knew the child was nonverbal.
Malone will serve a lifetime of sex offender probation. She will also be designated a sexual predator.
