Three women from Nassau County are stepping into the spotlight as contestants on a new reality TV show called Extracted, which will air for the first time on Fox30 this Monday.
The ladies told Action News Jax that the experience was life-changing and allowed one of them to fulfill a long-time dream.

Nassau County natives Davina Christy, her sister Davin Mieman, and her stepdaughter Tori Christy are making their big debut in the survival competition, which challenges 12 amateur survivalists to test their skills in the Canadian wilderness.
“I was supposed to survive with nothing but the clothes on my back and a small canteen of water,” said Davina.
As a contestant with no prior experience in the wild, she feared the unknown — especially the animals.
“One of my biggest fears was the wildlife. Not knowing if I’m going to wake up and there’s a bear next to my face,” she explained.

The unique format of Extracted allows the families of the contestants to watch their loved ones’ every move through a 24-hour livestream at headquarters. The families are then faced with a difficult decision: let them stay in the wilderness for a shot at $250,000 or press the “extract” button to bring the contestant home early.
Davin recalls the nerves she felt as she watched her sister, Davina, navigate the tough conditions.
“Tori and I were really nervous to go to sleep that night because we weren’t sure if she was going to make it through the night,” said Davin.
Despite the challenges, the contestants felt supported with their families’ encouragement.
“Knowing they are cheering me on pushed me through when I didn’t think I could go on,” Davina said.
For Davina, the show was the realization of a dream she’s had since her teenage years.
“We’re from the middle of nowhere. I had this dream, I followed it, here I am 30 years later, and we did it,” she said proudly.
The first episode of Extracted will premiere on February 10th on Fox30, the day after the Super Bowl.
