WASHINGTON — President Donald Trump spoke Thursday morning about the midair collision between an American Airlines plane and a Blackhawk helicopter that happened near Reagan National Airport on Wednesday night.

He first started by offering a moment of silence for the 67 people believed to be dead.

Trump said while the crash was still under investigation, he offered several possibilities about what caused it.

He criticized the Biden administration and attacked diversity initiatives, claiming that he had increased standards for those who work within aviation.

He was joined at the briefing by Vice President JD Vance, Transportation Secretary Sean Duffy, and Defense Secretary Pete Hegseth
