Three people killed after a deadly crash in Yulee on U.S. 17: FHP

YULEE, Fla. — Update: The driver and two passengers of a Chevrolet Equinox are dead after the front of the car struck the front of a Freightliner Cascadia Wednesday morning, according to the Florida Highway Patrol.

The crash happened sometime after 10 a.m.

The FHP reported that the Chevrolet was traveling southbound on U.S. 17, with an attempt to pass in the northbound travel lane.

At the same time, the Freightliner Cascadia was traveling northbound on U.S. 17, said FHP.

All three people in the Chevrolet were wearing a seatbelt, according to the report.

All of U.S. 17 was temporarily closed.
