Jacksonville man killed after car hits truck pulling trailer on I-295 SB exit ramp to 103rd Street

Deadly Crash The Jacksonville Fire and Rescue Department is working a deadly crash on I-295 South at the off-ramp of 103rd Street.

JACKSONVILLE, Fla. — A 24-year-old man was killed Tuesday afternoon in a crash on the Interstate 295 South exit ramp to 103rd Street.

The Florida Highway Patrol said the man, who was from Jacksonville, was traveling in a sedan in the westbound inside turn lane.

A truck pulling a trailer driven by a 47-year-old man from Middleburg was stopped in traffic and in front of the sedan.

FHP said in a news release that the 24-year-old man “failed to observe stopped traffic” and his sedan ran into the rear of the trailer.

In the sedan, FHP listed a 1-year-old boy from Jacksonville as a passenger. The boy did not sustain any injuries, according to the release.
