JACKSONVILLE, Fla. — Jacksonville Jaguars owner Shad Khan and general manager Trent Baalke met with the media on Monday after it was announced that Head Coach Doug Pederson was fired after three seasons and a 22-29 record.
Khan and Baalke expressed gratitude for Pederson’s work for the team, especially during his first year and a half when the team won the AFC South and made the playoffs.

But Khan said it was “time to make a change.” He said the team has been “predictable” on both sides of the ball.
“Being unpredictable is modern football and we need to be able to show that on the field,” Khan said.

Many fans had called for the firing of Baalke, with someone even renting a plane to fly a banner that said: “Fire Baalke for Duval.”
“This is my decision, OK?” Khan said, when asked who he may have consulted with in deciding to keep Baalke and part ways with Pederson.
