NASSAU COUNTY, Fla. — U.S. 17 over the St. Marys River will see full closures Monday through Thursday from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. for routine bridge maintenance, according to the Florida Department of Transportation.
During the closures, motorists will not be able to cross the St. Marys Bridge and will be detoured to Interstate 95 to cross the river.
About the St. Marys Bridge:
The St. Marys Bridge was constructed in 1927 and is a movable swing bridge, where the center span twists to open for vessels. The bridge is completely manual and requires a crew to unlock the vessel, manually turn the bridge and relock the bridge when vessels request an opening
