Some Winn-Dixie and Harveys stores will be going back into the hands of their original parent company.
According to a news release from Southeastern Grocers, “a consortium of private investors, spearheaded by the current CEO and President of Southeastern Grocers Inc. (SEG), Anthony Hucker, and C&S Wholesale Grocers” have acquired approximately 170 stores from ALDI U.S.

Action News Jax told you in August 2023 when there was first an agreement in the works for ALDI to acquire approximately 400 stores in Alabama, Georgia, Louisiana, Mississippi and Florida.
We also told you in March when ALDI completed the deal to purchase the stores.

About 220 Winn-Dixie and Harveys stores will still be converted into ALDI locations, SEG said.
“When we announced our acquisition of Southeastern Grocers, we shared that we intended for a meaningful number of Winn-Dixie and Harveys Supermarkets to continue to operate, and we’re delivering on that promise while also supporting ALDI growth. Over the last year, we’ve seen firsthand how C&S Wholesale Grocers, Southeastern Grocers, and their teams have continued to deliver great quality, service, and value to their customers, and we are confident they will lead the company successfully into its next chapter,” Jason Hart, CEO of ALDI, said in a news release from the company.

Hucker, will serve as Chair, CEO, and President, according to SEG’s news release.
