JACKSONVILLE, Fla. — Desmond Tyler Lee, a 28-year-old male, has been arrested and charged with 2nd Degree Murder in connection with a shooting on Ring Lane that left a man dead back on November 10, 2022.

On Thursday, November 10, 2022, Jacksonville Sheriff’s Office (JSO) officers responded to a call about a shooting in the 3600 block of Ring Lane.

Upon their arrival, they discovered a man lying on the ground outside a residence with multiple gunshot wounds.

The victim succumbed to his injuries at a nearby hospital. The JSO Homicide Team was notified of this incident and launched an investigation into the incident.

Police were able to collect video evidence, witness statements, and photo identifications during the initial investigation. This led to the identification of a potential suspect, Desmond Tyler Lee, a 28-year-old male who was believed to have shot the victim multiple times.

Lee had already come to the attention of the police in February 2022 when he was arrested for an unrelated case of armed robbery and attempted murder. It was through this case that Lee became a person of interest in the shooting on Ring Lane.

After a thorough investigation, an arrest warrant for 2nd Degree Murder was issued on March 31, 2023, for Desmond Lee.

As Lee was already in jail for his previous charges, the warrant was served on the secondary charge of Murder in connection with the shooting death of the victim.

The JSO has not released any further information regarding the motive for the shooting or the relationship between Lee and the victim. The investigation remains ongoing.
