New “No Pass” zone on A1A in Ponte Vedra Beach

Ponte Vedra Beach, Fla. — Attention St. Johns County drivers: Soon, you’ll no longer be able to legally pass other cars A1A in South Ponte Vedra Beach.

The Florida Department of Transportation is designating a “No Pass” zone on A1A from the Guana Tolomato Matanzas South Beach Access to Yellow Bill Lane.

New striping is planned during the week of Jan. 13, 2025, weather and unforeseen circumstances permitting.

FDOT said in a social media post that the project is a safety priority and an effort to bring the number of deadly crashes on the roadway to zero.
