JACKSONVILLE, Fla. — The mother of a seven-year-old who was shot and killed on Friday is hoping her son’s death will be a wake-up call for anyone involved in gangs.
Breon Allen was killed in crossfire Friday evening.

Action News Jax Shanila Kabir spoke to Breon’s mother, Casheena Love, at a funeral home Monday morning. She said the community is still rattled.
“This was done intentionally. This wasn’t an accident even though my baby was innocent, they did not kill my son on accident,” Love said.
The boy was leaving the house with his cousin, Lafayette Mango Jr., when the shooting happened. According to JSO, Mango is a “known gang associate.”
Love said she had no idea her cousin had gang ties.

“How did I not know, and I’m a family member? He’s around my son every day. I see him every day, I speak to him and hug him every day,” Love said
Now, she asks these people to remember their double life can harm others.
“Let us know and give us the chance to know to be around them. We need to make that decision on our own, so we can know our own fate,” Love said.
The family believes three shooters were involved in this crime.

Officers said they recovered the car that was used during the crime, and this remains an active investigation to find the people responsible.
Family said Mango is still recovering. Love said he is in stable condition, but she does not know if he is able to communicate with anyone.
The family said Breon’s funeral will take place this Saturday. They add it will be a public funeral to give the community an opportunity to say goodbye to the boy.
There is an active $18,000 reward to find these shooters. Anyone with information is encouraged to call the Jacksonville Sheriff’s Office or CrimeStoppers.
