Security at the dealership called police because a man was in the lot tampering with cars, JSO said at a news conference Tuesday morning. An officer arrived and made contact with the suspect. The officer ordered the man to stop and he didn’t, police said.
The officer deployed his taser, but it didn’t have any effect because he was wearing a large coat, police said. The man ran away and the officer gave chase. The man jumped a nearby fence and entered a retention pond.
