UPDATE: Shooting on Lake Shore Boulevard leaves one dead

JACKSONVILLE, Fla. — UPDATE 9:40 p.m:

Police say officers were called to the Oak Tree Apartments on Lake Shore Boulevard around 5:25 p.m. Tuesday.

When they arrived, they found a man between 30 and 40 years old with a gunshot wound.

Jacksonville Fire and Rescue pronounced him dead at the scene.

Investigators say the victim was shot in the parking lot, then ran into an apartment where a resident called 911.

It is not clear if the victim lived at the complex.

A motorcycle at the scene is suspected to belong to the victim. Detectives are also reviewing camera systems in the area, but say residents have not given much information so far.

At this time, no suspect has been identified. Officers are expected to remain on scene for several hours as they collect evidence, JSO said.

The Jacksonville Sheriff’s Office is investigating after a reported shooting on Lake Shore Boulevard on Tuesday evening.

Police said officers responded to the 1700 block of Lake Shore Boulevard, where the Jacksonville Fire and Rescue Department pronounced one person dead at the scene.

Right now, investigators have not released the identity of the victim.

It’s also unclear what led up to the shooting, and police have not said if any arrests or suspects are connected to the case.
