JEA confirmed with Action News Jax’s Ben Becker that Stein is expected to announce his resignation at Tuesday’s board meeting.

His current term expires at the end of February and will not seek a reappointment.

The board selection process was changed in 2020 to split appointments between the council and mayor’s office after the failed sale of the utility in 2019.
