JACKSONVILLE, Fla. — A Jacksonville man reoffended and has just pleaded guilty to attempting to entice a child to engage in sexual activity.

The man, Jeremy Wayne Leggett, is already a registered child sex offender, having been convicted in 2020 after traveling to meet a minor and commit sexual offenses.
According to court documents, FBI agents in June 2023 had been posing as minors working through social media to identify individuals seeking to engage in sexual activity with children.
Conversations were engaged with a user named “dAddi”, who was identified as Leggett, in a public chat room named “Lookingfor🔞wannaspoildaughter". Leggett was advised that the “minor” he was speaking to was under 13, to which he asked if they “like[d] older men”. He then would send explicit photos of himself.
From June 17-19, 2023, Leggett would initiate conversation with the “child”, persuading them to send him sexually suggestive photos or to meet for sex.
On June 19, 2023, arrangements were made to meet here. Upon arriving at the agreed-upon location, law enforcement attempted to make contact with Leggett before he fled the scene. Shortly after, JSO and FBI agents located and subsequently arrested him.
This case was brought as part of Project Safe Childhood, a nationwide initiative by the Department of Justice to combat child exploitation and abuse.
Leggett has been in custody since 2023. He faces a minimum penalty of 10 years, up to life, in federal prison, and a potential lifetime term of supervised release
