JACKSONVILLE, Fla. — UPDATE 6:35 pm:
The Florida Forest Service reports the fire is 100% contained. It’s listed as having spanned about 1.4 acres of land.
A lane has reopened on San Pablo Road, allowing traffic to begin moving again.
First responders have begun leaving the scene.
ORIGINAL: A brushfire is burning along San Pablo Road near San Yepez, the Jacksonville Fire Rescue Department confirmed Sunday.
Officials have been out there since around 3 p.m. and shut down the road.
The smoke could be seen clearly visible above the tree line, but officials say there is no risk to nearby structures.
While things have gotten better as of 5:30 p.m., neighbors in the area at the beginning told Action News Jax that the smoke was making it harder to breathe.
