JACKSONVILLE, Fla — The Jacksonville Sheriff’s Office is searching for at least three people after a violent weekend where over four shootings took place.
Most recently, a shooting in the Moncrief area was reported late Sunday night where. Jacksonville police were called to the 4200 block of Moncrief Road W. at about 11:45 p.m. in response to a person shot.

Officers arrived to find a man with a gunshot wound to his back, a Jacksonville police news release states. He was taken to the hospital with a non-life-threatening injury. Minutes later another man arrived at the hospital with a gunshot wound to his back, the news release states.

Woman shoots, kills boyfriend
The first shooting reported this weekend came during the early hours of Saturday morning at around 5:30 a.m. when officers responded to the 6400 block of Teresa Avenue when 38-year-old Falen McNeil shot and killed her boyfriend, David Cruz.
McNeil told JSO officers that she had shot and killed Cruz and she was detained shortly after.
It is unclear if the murder was intentional or accidental. Action news Jax has requested the arrest report from JSO to find out more.
This was the only fatal shooting to come out of this past weekend.
Woman shot in the face
The second shooting that took place this weekend was reported late Saturday night in the Murray Hill neighborhood. At around 10 p.m., officers responded to a reported shooting on the 3000 block of Post Street.
Upon arrival on the scene, officers found a woman with a gunshot wound to her head. Initial investigations done by JSO state that before the shooting, a traffic dispute between the victim and a potential suspect occurred, where she was shot shortly after.
She was transported to a nearby hospital in critical condition.
Man shot in the leg
The third reported shooting occurred in the Brentwood neighborhood late Saturday night. Officers responded to the 4000 block of Silver Street in reference to a person shot.
Upon arriving at the scene, officers found a victim with a single gunshot wound to their leg. An initial investigation done by JSO says that the driver of a dark-colored sedan fired at the victim before fleeing.
The victim was transported to a local hospital and is in stable condition.

“It’s super quiet neighborhood usually, and like we usually take walks up the road to the streets or to the store”, says Cassidy Ramos, a local neighbor in Murray Hill. “It’s a very family-oriented neighborhood, so it was pretty shocking.”
Records show at least 14 shootings during February, with a total of 37 total reported shootings so far during 2025. There were only 32 shootings reported this time in 2024.
