JACKSONVILLE, Fla. — UPDATE: A 48-year-old Jacksonville Beach man is dead after the box truck he was driving rear-ended a tractor-trailer at about 8:30 a.m. Monday on Interstate 295.
The man was traveling southbound on I-295 at State Road 202. A tractor-trailer was stopped for traffic when the box truck failed to stop and crashed into the back of the trailer, a Florida Highway Patrol news release states.
The driver of the tractor trailer, a 46-year-old Orlando man, was not injured. The Jacksonville Beach man, who was wearing his seatbelt, was pronounced dead at the scene, the news release states.

All lanes of Interstate 295 northbound are closed Monday morning after a fatal crash involving a tractor-trailer and a box truck.
Traffic is being diverted to JTB. Florida Highway Patrol posted about the wreck on X just after 9 a.m. The accident happened north of J. T. Butler Boulevard.
