Clay County school bus with 30 students on board rear ended by SUV

CLAY COUNTY, Fla. — A school bus with 30 children on board was hit Tuesday morning while the driver was stopped at a stop sign. The bus, driven by a 49-year-old Fleming Island man, was traveling west on Kindlewood Drive at about 7:53 a.m., a Florida Highway Patrol news release states.

The bus was waiting to turn north on Challenger Drive when it was rear ended by an SUV that was also traveling west on Kindlewood Drive. The SUV, driven by a 31-year-old Middleburg woman, “was unable to stop in time and the front of [the SUV] collided with the rear of [the bus],” the news release states.

No injuries were reported.
