JACKSONVILLE, Fla. — The City of Jacksonville announced the launch of a new program designed to further animal care throughout the city.

The Professional Animal Workers Certificate (PAWS) program is designed for individuals with intellectual and developmental differences to gain educational and work experience with the Animal Care & Protective Services (ACPS) team.
“This is the kind of vital vocational training that will really make a difference in our city’s workforce development efforts,” said Mayor Donna Deegan during the announcement on Tuesday, January 28. “Programs like this are essential to building a stronger, more vibrant community and today marks an important milestone in that effort.”
