JACKSONVILLE, Fla. — The 16-year-old founder of Running 4 Heroes Inc. will run a mile on Wednesday for two local first heroes.
At 7:30 p.m., Zechariah Cartledge will run a mile for fallen Jacksonville police officer Brad McNew.
Right after that, at 8 p.m., he’ll run for Jacksonville Fire and Rescue Department Engineer Heath J. O’Shea.

O’Shea died on the job in April. He suffered from a medical emergency.
McNew was shot and killed at a North Jacksonville gas station while trying to protect a victim of domestic violence.

These two miles will add to the more than 1,500 miles Cartledge has run to honor fallen first responders.
