BRUNSWICK, Ga. — Police are investigating after a 15-year-old boy was shot in Brunswick on Friday.

It happened near Whispering Oaks Drive and the 2100 block of Tillman Avenue.

Brunswick Police Department Assistant Chief Angela Smith said police received calls about shots fired in the area around 3:30 p.m.

Officers responded and found the boy on the ground with at least one gunshot wound.

He was later airlifted to a hospital.

Smith told Action News Jax that the teen’s injuries are life-threatening.
