Michele Newell is a three-time Emmy award-winning reporter. She joined the WSB-TV team as a general assignment reporter in November 2021. She was promoted to Cobb County Bureau Chief five months later Before moving to Atlanta, Michele worked at TV news stations in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania, Columbus, Ohio and Steubenville, Ohio. Michele has covered some of the nation’s biggest stories, including the Pittsburgh Synagogue shooting, the protests following the death of George Floyd, and the aftermath of a devastating earthquake in Haiti. Michele is a Pittsburgh native and earned a Communications Media degree from Indiana University of Pennsylvania. In her spare time, she loves to mentor young women and enjoys spending time with her family.
