Students can win $6,400 in cash, scholarships during James Weldon Johnson Young Writers Festival

JACKSONVILLE, Fla. — Local students have a chance to win cash and scholarships as a part of the inaugural James Weldon Johnson Young Writers Festival.

Students in grades 3-12 can submit a poem or dramatic monologue for a chance to win from a pool of $6,400 in prizes.

The deadline has been extended to Friday, June 10.

The festival is being hosted by the Friends of the Brentwood Library in partnership with Duval County Public Schools, the City of Jacksonville and the Jacksonville Public Library.
