St. Johns County Utility Department urges residents, businesses to conserve water

St. Johns County is urging residents and businesses to conserve water ahead of the holiday weekend.

The county said during the 4th of July weekend, there are typically very high water consumption levels and because of the high demand some may experience lower water pressure than normal.

The utility department says customers can help to conserve water by following the irrigation schedule and reduce the amount of water being used whenever possible.

Here is the irrigation schedule it provided:

  • Homes with odd numbered or no addresses may irrigate on Wednesdays and Saturdays
  • Homes with even numbered addresses may irrigate on Thursdays and Sundays.
  • Nonresidential properties may irrigate on Tuesdays and Fridays.
  • Please do not irrigate between 10 a.m. and 4 p.m.
